Menopause

What is Menopause?

Menopause marks the end of a woman’s monthly hormone cycle and fertility, typically around age 51 (but can range from 40 to 58). The transition to menopause, called perimenopause, lasts 2-8 years and often brings symptoms, such as hot flashes, disrupted sleep, and more. Some women may experience severe symptoms and health changes, as the benefits of estrogen, a steroid hormone associated with the female reproductive organs, decreases with menopause.
