Breast Cancer

What is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer occurs when breast cells begin to grow uncontrollably and do not function normally, often due to DNA damage. Cancer cells can interfere with the function of other neighboring cells or metastasize to other tissues and interfere with essential body functions, causing serious health issues or death.  As the most common cancer in women, breast cancer makes up 30% of all female cancer cases and can be influenced by estrogen and how the body processes it.
