How Oxidative Stress Drives Hormonal Imbalance, Immune Dysfunction & Inflammation
Lacy Campbell, ND

Oxidative stress plays a central role in hormone balance, inflammation, immunity, and overall metabolic health, and it’s a pattern many providers see reflected in patient results every day.
In this webinar, Dr. Lacy Campbell, ND, breaks down how reactive oxygen species (ROS) function as essential signaling molecules, what drives them out of balance, and how hormonal transitions—from puberty to perimenopause—shape redox status and immune function.
Using a clinically practical, integrative lens, Dr. Campbell will explore:
- How ROS are generated, regulated, and measured
- The impact of stress, sleep, environmental exposures, and lifestyle patterns on oxidative load
- How hormonal shifts influence inflammation and immune resilience across the lifespan
- The connection between oxidative stress and chronic disease, aging, and symptom progression
- Evidence‑informed strategies to support redox balance through nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation
- A real‑world case study of perimenopause‑related frozen shoulder and the role of hormone therapy in recovery
Providers will leave with a clearer understanding of how oxidative stress intersects with hormone health and practical tools to support patients.
About the Speaker
Lacy Campbell, ND is a first‑year naturopathic resident at A Woman’s Time in Portland, Oregon, training under the mentorship of Dr. Tori Hudson. Before entering medicine, she worked in zoological animal husbandry and wildlife rehabilitation, a foundation that informs her unique clinical lens rooted in evolutionary medicine, paleopathology, and a One Health framework. She is passionate about translating complex science into practical, patient‑centered care and helping individuals feel empowered and at home in their bodies.
A graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), Dr. Campbell’s clinical interests include menopause and midlife health, perimenopause, preventive and lifestyle medicine, metabolic health, IV therapy, epidemiology, and the gut–hormone–immune axis. She especially enjoys working with perimenopausal women and mothers, bringing a compassionate, evidence‑informed approach to integrative primary care.
Dr. Campbell has advanced training in aesthetic neurotoxin procedures and is an active member of the Menopause Society. She also serves on the board of the National Academy of Naturopathic Primary Care Providers, contributing to national conversations on clinical standards and the future of integrative medicine. She believes that healing begins with listening and strives to create a safe, affirming environment where patients feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and playing the bagpipes, while raising two very spirited young children.
