Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age, affecting up to 21% of women globally. It is primarily characterized by high levels of androgens and problems with ovulation, leading to symptoms like irregular periods, excess hair growth, and obesity. There are two types: ovarian hyperandrogenism (most common) and adrenal hyperandrogenism (less common).
