What is Heavy Menses?

Heavy Menses, also referred to as heavy menstrual bleeding, is a type of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) which refers to losing more than 80 ml of blood during a menstrual period or bleeding that lasts longer than 7-9 days. Abnormal uterine bleeding can also include bleeding or spotting outside of a female’s regular menstrual period.
