Foundational Lecture Series: The HPA Axis

This foundational lecture will discuss the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal, or HPA-axis, which plays an important role in stress response. DUTCH Medical Director, Dr. Carrie Jones, will explain the components of the HPA-axis (hypothalamus, pituitary gland, adrenal glands), the hormones released by each of these structures during the stress response, and identify the role of cortisol and the importance of DHEA.
