This position is located in McMinnville, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley.  We are seeking candidates who can work in a hybrid role effectively from both a home office and our McMinnville office (minimum of three days per week).

Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Precision Analytical will direct and oversee financial operations, prepare detailed financial reports, and forecast future growth. This role involves regularly delivering financial updates and insights, influencing strategic business decisions, and actively engaging in leadership meetings. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will align financial strategies with the company’s values, fostering sustainable success.

Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Directs the preparation and review of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Leads the three-year forecast and budget processes.
  • Establishes CAPX budgets and reviews corrective action plans to address variances.
  • Conducts financial analysis, including productivity, unit costs, ROI, trend analysis, and fixed/variable costs.
  • Compares projections with actual figures and makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Identifies, reports, and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs).

Accounting and Compliance

  • Oversees Accounting department, including cash management, AP, AR, closing processes, as well as budget preparation and audit functions to ensure compliance with financial-related processes across departments.
  • Evaluates and establishes external tax and audit advisory services to optimize financial oversight and compliance.
  • Manages relationships with external tax and audit professionals to ensure thorough compliance and timely reporting.
  • Assesses and enhances risk management strategies for financial activities.
  • Evaluates and implements best practices in accounting, including optimizing accrual processes, chart of accounts, and reporting standards.

Strategic Planning and Leadership

  • Collaborates with department heads and executives, including the CEO, to monitor operations, coordinate planning and establish priorities.
  • Makes recommendations to current methods and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly financial performance updates, strategic insights, and financial input to enhance overall strategic decision-making.
  • Contributes to shaping and aligning business strategy with a focus on financial perspectives.
  • Engages in weekly Senior Leadership Team meetings to provide financial perspectives and insights, and actively participates in quarterly off-site meetings to align financial strategy with broader organizational goals.
  • Recommends bonus structures aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of progressive experience in financial management, with a history of strategic leadership roles and commitment to corporate governance.
  • Proven ability to lead with a hands-on approach and readiness to drive initiatives forward.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and a teamwork orientation that aligns with company values.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and organizational complexities.
  • Proficient in modern database management and accounting software systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities, to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Previous experience with EOS organizations and implementations is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position is located in an office environment with frequent use of a computer and related hardware.  A person must be able to stand and/or sit; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools or controls; use hands and arms to reach.  Occasionally lifting/moving up to 20lbs is also required.
