This position is located in McMinnville, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley. We are seeking candidates who can work in a hybrid role effectively from both a home office and our McMinnville office (minimum of two days per week).

Job Summary:
Working on Precision Analytical’s core applications, the Business Analyst (BA) strives to continually improve the user experience and productivity of our teams through technology solutions. We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Business Analyst with expertise in all parts of the software development lifecycle, especially business and functional software requirements analysis, quality assurance, and training/rollout. The Business Analyst reviews, analyzes, supports, and evaluates user needs for core systems, documents requirements, designs and performs testing and training, and helps the organization adapt to change. This individual will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business, laboratory, and clinical needs and technical capabilities within our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of workflow and business processes, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to recommend and implement technical solutions to drive efficiency. This person should be passionate and committed to the discovery, development, and successful implementation of innovative solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Analysis
- Collaborate with business units to gather, document, and analyze business requirements
- Translate business needs into clear and concise functional specifications
- Ensure that requirements are accurately documented, understood, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct requirement validation and verification to eliminate ambiguity
- Gain a deep understanding of Precision Analytical’s business processes and workflows
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization
- Document current and future-state processes to support business process reengineering efforts
Solution Recommendations:
- Evaluate existing technical solutions and propose enhancements or alternatives
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement technical solutions aligned with business objectives
- Assess the feasibility of proposed solutions and provide recommendations based on technical and business constraints and opportunities
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies and plans
- Occasionally perform thorough testing and validation of software applications, ensuring they meet requirements
- Identify and document defects and work closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and ensure user satisfaction
Support and Training:
- Develop communication plans, training plans and coordinate rollout and support activities
- Provide business software-related training to staff and train Super Users to allow them to assist others
- Develop specialized knowledge of Precision Analytical (PA)’s business processes and understanding of the role of business applications in improving processes
- Participate in training, support, and development opportunities to improve knowledge

- Create and maintain project documentation, requirements, and test results.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM field, IS/IT, Business Management, or related.
- 3+ years’ related experience including exposure to software application support, process analysis, change management, and/or project management
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on requirements, QA, and technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong experience in requirements definition (user stories, use cases, diagrams, etc.) and documentation tools.
- Ability to communicate complex information in a simple way at all levels
- Working knowledge of user experience / user interface design, including wireframes and prototyping
- Knowledge and experience with healthcare industry, lab environment and associated software applications such as Lab Information Management Systems, Patient Portals, Accounting Software, CRM, and Learning Management Systems (a plus)
- Adept at establishing trust, empathy and positive working relationships with coworkers and vendor partners
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be results oriented and solution-focused

Work Environment:
This position is in an office (or employee remote) environment with frequent use of a computer and related hardware. A person must be able to stand and/or sit; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools or controls; use hands and arms to reach. Occasionally lifting/moving up to 30lbs is also required.
In addition, this position may require a person to travel via car, airplane, and other modes of transportation to various sites including Precision Analytical locations, stores or vendor locations, training or meeting venues, etc.
