Business Analyst

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst strives to continually improve the user experience and productivity of staff through the development and use of business software. This role serves as the key liaison between the business and technology areas of the organization while providing project coordination, training, and change management support. This position will review, analyze, support, and evaluate user needs for business systems, document project requirements, perform testing and training, and help the organization adapt to change.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and business process analysis skills and will be able to lead or assist with internal projects to improve processes and systems, finding creative ways to solve business problems. We are seeking candidates who can work effectively from a home office and our McMinnville office or other worksites.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support business software applications, providing first and second-level support for end users while coordinating with technical staff and vendor resources to address, prioritize, and manage requests for additional assistance and system enhancements
  • Troubleshoot problems and liaise with staff and vendors to resolve issues
  • Develop training plans and coordinate other change management activities related to process improvement, system implementation, and other efforts which impact current roles or require additional skills
  • Provide business software-related training to staff and train Super Users to allow them to assist others
  • Develop specialized knowledge of Precision Analytical (PA)’s business processes and understanding of the role of business applications in improving processes and services
  • Manage or participate in cross-functional projects to implement or improve enterprise business applications and processes
  • Assist in defining scope, resource requirements, and timeframe expectations of process improvement and technology projects
  • Track project deliverables while also developing and delivering project status reports
  • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the product
  • Assist with the implementation and configuration of new software features and functions; advocate for end user needs in systems improvement projects and ensure different systems work together to provide the best possible user experience
  • Evaluate, select, design, test, and coordinate implementation of new software and technologies as guided by IS Manager or leadership
  • Develop documentation for systems following company standards including workflow processes, test plans, user guides, and software testing/quality control standards
  • Assist in long-term strategic planning for business systems as well as financial aspects of projects including budgeting, forecasting, business case, and return on investment (ROI) calculations
  • Support business intelligence efforts and data-driven decision-making capabilities within the organization by collecting and analyzing data while also coordinating efforts to define, track, and display metrics through associated dashboards
  • Coordinate with company leadership, department heads, and other personnel to empower end users with the ability to run their own queries and reports as well as navigate dashboards to do their own gathering and analysis of data
  • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Business, Information Technology, or similar field
  • 3+ years’ related experience including an emphasis in software application support, process analysis, and project management
  • Professional certifications desirable; may include ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, AAC, CFLBA, CRPE, PBA, or PMP
  • Knowledge and experience with the healthcare industry, lab environment ,and associated regulatory requirements including HIPAA, PCI, and privacy compliance
  • Experience with software applications such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL, Lab Information Management Systems, Patient Portals, Accounting Software (QuickBooks), CRM (Nutshell), Learning Management Systems, Teamwork, and other Project Management tools
  • Knowledge of change management and IT System Development Lifecycle methods including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and other project methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to stakeholders at all levels
  • Adept at establishing trust, empathy, and positive working relationships with coworkers and vendor partners
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be results-oriented and solution-focused

Work Environment::

This position is in an office (or employee remote) environment with frequent use of a computer and related hardware. A person must be able to stand and/or sit; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools or controls; use hands and arms to reach. Occasionally lifting/moving up to 30lbs is also required.

In addition, this position may require a person to travel via car, airplane, and other modes of transportation to various sites including Precision Analytical locations, stores or vendor locations, trainings, or meeting venues, etc.
